Juicy, tender pork burgers are my all time favorite. It’s a shame that there aren’t that many places that you could find pork burgers here in Malaysia. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t enjoy them especially when it’s so easy to make the patties from scratch.
For New Year’s eve we stayed at home and whipped some yummilicious pork burgers. All it took was just 20mins max. It is so versatile too since you can actually mix in anything that you fancy into the mince pork and adjust the seasonings to your taste.
For The Patties:
200g ground/minced pork (enough to make 5 patties)
2 pinch garlic seasoning
2 pinch of chili flakes
pepper to taste, fresh ground black is better
1 pinch of salt to taste
1 small egg beaten
1 quarter chicken bouillon/stock cube dissolved in 2 tablespoons water
For the Burger:
5 burger buns
sliced tomato
thinly sliced onion
lettuce
mayonnaise
mustard
chili sauce
cheese slices ( i spread Laughing Cow creamy cheese wedges into the bun)
1) Mix all the patty ingredients thoroughly.
2) If you have the time leave the mixture in the fridge for at least 30mins for the flavor to set in else it is alright to use it straight away.
3) Divide mixture into 5 equal balls and mold into patties.
4) Cook on medium heat under the grill, on the barbecue or in a pan until the patties are cooked to medium done. Scoop it into a plate. Do not overcook them or the pork will become dry and tasteless. Also don’t press down too hard on the patty with the spatula; you’ll lose all those wonderful juices.
5) Split the burger bun and spread some creamy cheese wedges onto the cut surfaces before toasting them on the pan.
6) Spread mayonnaise/chili sauce/mustard on the toasted bun and add sliced onion, lettuce and tomato and finally the burger patties.
And now you have it, gorgeous pork burger!
Where is it?
