We met up as usual (our quarterly small gathering) for the boyfriend’s birthday. Well, technically it’s not his birthday yet, we had an early celebration with friends. It’s really so difficult to find time in our schedule nowadays!
Anyways it was up to me to decide where to go because the boyfriend is good to me like that
. I was adamant to visit D’italiane Kitchen while the boyfriend suggested the Funky Villa for Thai food because they have cheap beer there.
Needless to say i won and we had Italian instead. Omg it’s been so long since we dined out or had Italian for that matter!
Sunway Giza is great. I love the place because it’s pack with wholesome goodness which means it’s packed with eateries and restaurants haha!
D’italiane Kitchen was a good experience too. The restaurant is chic and classy without being pretentious.
The design is very modern; sufficient lighting – stylish light fixtures, white textured wall, glass doors and simple wooden tables and chairs. The bar looks great too. It’s like dining alfresco only it’s indoors.
The staff was absolutely polite and attentive. They were efficient and fast. We were seated immediately and order was made with ease.
The list of drinks on the menu is so long it goes on forever. There is the tea section and coffee section, blended smoothie section, mock tail section, wine section and juice section.
All three of us decided to have the Apple & Orange juice which i absolutely love – it’s so refreshingly sour, it’s addictive, while the boyfriend had RO water. RO water by the way is just iced water with a hint of lemon. It’s refillable though so it’s worth the RM0.90
.
The food arrive in a jiffy. Yippee!
First came the Sicilian Chicken Salad. This is really, really good!
The salad consists of roasted chicken strips, mustard dressing, mixed salad and sufficient herb dressing. I love the fact that it has fruits (grapes and peach) which really mix well with the salad. The fruits and the dressing give it a slight sweet and sour taste.
It’s extremely appetizing. The boyfriend couldn’t get enough of this.
The Smoked Salmon Pasta was not bad.
Here we can select our own choice of pasta. We selected fettuccine.
I actually like this dish because it’s really light. The pasta have a slight salty taste to it in addition to the delicious slices of salmon and cherry tomatoes. However, the pasta had a slightly flourish taste to it as if it was overcooked or something.
Ah! The pizza here is something.
The Smoked Duck Pizza is something i would recommend to friends. As opposed to the normal pepperoni pizza which is my all time favorite this comes to a close second.
The pizza consists of smoked duck slices, spring onions, button mushroom, garlic slices and mozzarella on tomato sauce. The crust is very thin which makes it yummy. I really can’t stand thick crusted pizza – so dry and doughy! First bite tasted strange because i’m not used to having duck pizza but it gets better with each bite.
Eat it while it’s hot!
Lastly came the Jumbo Lamb Shank. The description? Braised premium Australian lamb shank in natural juices and herbs topped with brown sauce and served with mashed potato and seasonal vegetables.
It’s really not fair for me to be reviewing about lambs because i’m not really a fan of lamb. However, to be fair the boyfriend said it’s rather good given he had better elsewhere.
To be fair, the lamb was super tender and soft which makes it tolerable for me at least. The boyfriend seemed to like it. I find the mashed potato a little too sweet.
