Remember 126 Restaurant @ Bukit Tinggi

The Cheong family had the CNY 2010 reunion dinner far, far away at Bukit Tinggi. Usually mom would prepare a big dinner at home but since she just had a surgery 1 month ago and our cooking skills is not really up to par, we thought we would eat out this year.

Sis recommended a restaurant by the name Remember 126 located at Kg. Bukit Tinggi. Yes, the name is really cheesy so i didn’t expected much from that place initially LOL.

It’s located along Lebuhraya Karak, just 15mins from Genting Sempah.

The restaurant is spacious and airy and is extremely clean. I was impressed with their public toilets which was very clean as well compared to the usual dirty toilets in Chinese restaurants.

There’s pond and a yellow school bus as deco too. Cute .

Yee sang

We ordered a yee sang with jellyfish as appetizer. It is Chinese New Year after all.

We had a fun time tossing the yee sang but i dropped my chopsticks in there haha. Is that a bad omen? Oh well…

OUG roast duck

The service here is more than excellent. The staff were attentive and courteous, we were tended too promptly and they had great suggestions too. It’s a refreshing change because most restaurants offer really bad service during CNY.

Future brother in law brought the famous OUG roast duck along to the dinner too. The staff quickly took the package from us and served it nicely on a plate without even us asking.

I would return to Remember 126 just for their good service. Definitely.

4 heavenly king

The food on the other hand is rather decent but again not spectacular.

Curry wild boar

We ordered 5 additional dishes, the four heavenly king, curry wild boar, sweet sour pork, paddy frog soup and steam river patin.

Sweet sour pork

My fav was the steam fish which was smooth and sweet. The curry wild boar was rather good too although the meat was hard too chew. It was average.

The sweet sour pork however was just ok. The pork was a little too hard and dry. Pineapples was missing too .

River patin

As for the paddy frog soup, it was surprisingly good. I don’t eat frogs but i tried the soup and had a bite of the flesh. The flesh was really sweet and firm, it was like eating chicken but it was a whole lot nicer. The soup on the other hand was full of flavor. Delicious!
