While waiting for my dermatologist and feeling slightly peckish, we had a stroll around Jalan Imbi. There weren’t much choices for food since it’s already 4pm. That’s when we spotted a small but clean shop opposite Overseas Restaurant.
I had not suspected the popularity of Restoran Tangkak Beef Noodles till i was seated and saw the many newspaper clippings plastered on the wall. Apparently it’s a branch of the very famous Kuang fei beef noodles with branches in Kluang and Malacca.
However, the beef noodle in this particular outlet is really not my cup of tea.
The boyfriend ordered the mix beef selection (with stomach and tendons) with hor fun while i had the normal one with yee mee.
The noodles came within few minutes full to the rim with big chunks of beef. The beef was not tender at all, instead it’s very hard to chew. I really had a hard time eating eat and the chunks being so big didn’t help at all. The broth was alright though even though not impressive.
