Ok, this post is a little pathetic only because i forgot to bring a camera on our makan trip and the camera phone was also spoiled but i really wanted to share the trip with everyone so i am resorted to ‘borrow’ other blogger’s photos instead. LOL.
Few weekends back we finally decided to drive all the way to Hulu Langat for thai food at the popular Fish Farm Thai Restaurant everyone is talking about. From reading the reviews on the net about this restaurant i was a little worried about the safety of driving there especially at night while it was drizzling. Some had even commented on the extremely bumpy road and suggested a four wheel drive is the only way to go.
I find that very exaggerating and misleading lor. It was bumpy alright but not really that bad.

Nice restaurant by the fish pond
The restaurant is located in Hulu Langat not for after you come across the popular “Look Out Point”. It’s surprisingly fairly easy to go and you have to be extra alert looking for the turning towards the restaurant. When you see a is small neon sign board (very easy to miss because it’s small and by time you make out the words on the board you are already too late), that’s your queue so after “Look Out Point” drive slower and look for the board on your right.
After you turn into the narrow road you will be in for a bumpy ride. You will be entering a luscious private land not unlike a jungle. The road is bumpy and it’s very dark here since there is no electricity. Drive carefully till you see the restaurant. There’s a RM2.00 fee for parking.
Fish Farm Thai Restaurant is built right next to a fish pond, giving a nice ambiance. The service is good and quick too. Even though the place was packed, we found a table straight away. We were told that there will be mosquitoes attacking us too but i didn’t notice it at all. Haha.
We ordered the 4 signature dish which were the seafood tom yam, barbecued lamb, paku in belacan and the steamed tilapia fish in lemon Thai style. We also add in the grilled crab – something i have not tried before.
I must say i loved the food here. It was delicious.
The tom yam was really sour and good while my favorite dish of the night is the barbecued lamb. It was very flavorful minus the musky taste of lamb. Awesome!
I rather wish that the portion wasn’t so small though…
The paku vege was alright. I don’t fancy paku anyways but was not bad nevertheless.
The steamed fish was superb. Very fresh (straight from the fish pond by the restaurant) and sour.
And the grilled crabs! Super yummy. I’ve never ate crabs that are not cooked with sauces. Most of the time we would order creamy butter crab or crab in sweet and sour sauce. The grill crab makes a pleasant change. i had no idea crab would taste so good in it’s natural flavor.
Another thing that i looked forward at this place is that there’s todi (or tody – palm beer brewed from sap of coconut palm) available. Now i’m officially no longer a todi-virgin. Hahaha!
I’m not really that into the coconut brew, i find it too sweet but todi mixed with Guinness taste extremely good!

Tody and Guinness (we had to order the big one (1.5L) instead of small like in the photo because they ran out of the small bottles)
The meal cost us RM154.50 for the 5 of us (we are small eaters). Super affordable right?
. Will definitely visit again.
