Kalare Night Bazaar in Chiang Mai was really fun and exciting. As much as it was a shopping destination, it also is known for it’s cultural performances. Unfortunately at the time we were there for a visit we didn’t get to see any show. I guess we missed it.
However, the sight of the many colorful merchandises such as bags, fashion accessories, wood carvings and home decorative lightened up our mood. It’s all very pretty and at an affordable price too.

Kalare Night Bazaar also have a wide open-spaced food court offering a variety type of cuisine from Thai food to Italian cuisine. Most of the patrons are tourists curing their hunger and resting their tired feet after shopping at the bazaar.

The fried kangkung (water spinach) with porked, tomato with a pungent sauce of shrimp paste were awesome. None of the bitter taste you always get from poorly cooked kangkung.

However, the steamed fish with lemon was a disappointment, so were the cockles. The fish was not fresh at all and the cockles were burnt and not really clean.

It wasn’t worth the 700 Baht we paid for at all. I think we would have better luck at the other seafood restaurant nearby.
