I don’t normally dine at Lot10 except for Crystal Jade La Mien, but we made a stop here before we continue our tiring shopping session. Not knowing what to have for lunch we stumbled upon Société Café on the second floor.
Although Société offers Western and local food, the interior of the cafe reflects the style of a Parisian bistro. The French-styled decor (with posters and paintings covering the walls and dim lighting) gives a cozy and ambient atmosphere.
Also this cafe is known to be a regular stop among the rich and famous such as the former Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, as well Sheila Majid, Ning Baizura and Datuk Siti Nurhaliza.
That being said, i think it’s a little over-rated. The menu offers very mediocre dishes considering the price that they are charging. For example, a ordinary loh mee will cost RM12.80!
The loh mee is pretty good compared to their Western dishes. But i still think it’s pricey.
I was disappointed with their Spaghetti Marinara. Nothing special there. Although the portion is big and they were generous on the mussels too, i find the gravy too thick and sweet. It kind of tasted like those can pasta.
As for the house-recommended Colonial Rest House Chicken Chop, the chicken was too dry and it has a too-sweet tomato-based sauce.

Colonial Rest House Chicken Chop
Société Café is totally not my cup of tea.
Colonial Chicken Chop – RM21.80
Spaghetti Marinara – RM21.00
Loh Mee – RM12.80
Apple Juice – RM6.80
Lemon Juice – RM6.80
Total: RM79.60 (RM69.20 + RM6.92 service + RM3.46 tax)
