TGIF 3 Course Meal @ Hartamas

It baffles me whenever i see the long, long queue outside Chili’s coz TGIF is way much better. But after last weekends dinner at the newly opened TGIF, Hartamas Shopping Centre, i think you’ll have to excuse me, i’ll be joining the Chili’s queue. Kthxbai. We were there on the first place to satisfy Mr. Boyfriend’s craving for the nachos. But the 3 course meal sounded like a good deal. I had it before but the meal set was different back then. They had since, changed the 3 course menu. Nevertheless, i remember vaguely that i enjoyed it and the portion was quite large. So why not? RM39.90 sounds reasonable enough. Maybe it was just this particular branch but we really had a disappointing dinner. First of all we had a hard time understanding the staff (most of them are foreigners) and it was fortunate that we didn’t order anymore than an appetizer and a 3 course meal coz the food was… well… honestly, bad. Omg. What happened to the food??! Even my fav nachos is not so great anymore! First of all, the tortilla chips weren’t as crunchy (i know instantly if my food is fresh or not ok) and pico de gallo was so dry and so few, i could count them. Then, the fried calamari tasted as if it had been re-fried or whatever. It was a little soggy. Next episode to the nightmare is the Sizzling Chicken and Cheese. I didn’t like the cheese much. It cooled too easily so during the meal, i had to scrap the cheese from the pan and it tasted a bit like sliced Chesedale. The chicken was hard and one of them was a little burnt. The only thing It was really funny conversing with the foreigner staff at this branch of TGIF. We called for the bill before the dessert came like we always do. However, the staff thought we were going already so he asked if we wanted to take-away the chocolate malt cake. Just when we thought we made it clear to him we were going to eat it there, he nodded and came out from the kitchen with the cake all comfy in a big Styrofoam box. -_-” Oh well… Note to myself: No more visits to TGIF for at least 6 months.
