These are my favorite chocolate snacks in the world. It’s so good, i swear i could live on it for like eternity! Ok, i’m exaggerating. But it’s really good. Whenever sis goes to Germany, she always bring these back.

Giotto!

First is the Ferrero Giotto from the same company that came out with Ferrero Rocher. Actually it taste and look similar to the Ferrero Rocher we get locally but the packaging is different and the sphere chocolate is a little smaller. Each one is shaped like a sphere with nuts and the inside has a chocolate filling.I find it less sweet and more moist than the local ones. Maybe i’m just being biased coz this comes all the way from Italy and other Europe countries *wakaka! Oh well.

Coated with hazelnut

There is also a useful warning for people with peanut allergies to not eat this.  LOL.

Knoppers!

Knoppers on the other hand is a milk and hazelnut square with wholesome ingredients. It’s something like a chocolate wafer with crispy-backed wafer with one third whole-wheat flour, milk and melted nougat cream filling and refined with crunchy roasted hazelnuts. It taste better than normal chocolate wafer. Very, very crunchy indead. It’s really “Not so sweet and not so heavy” just like the what the ads says. I could munch on these the whole day.

Yummy insides

I wish it’s available here in Malaysia. I would stock a whole load of them.

Free Credit Report

No more post about sumptuous food today. I interrupt to bring to you some information about debt consolidation which i think is utterly important in society now in particular during today’s’ economy turmoil.

Haha sound so serious and professional! Nah, i’m still new at this debt consolidation thing but i got to admit that the whole debt management thing is quite interesting. I mean with all the brand new fashion brands reaching our shores but the prices of items sky-rocketing, it’s tough for a girl not to be in debts don’t you agree? It’s hard to say no to the gorgeous Aldo pumps!

This brings us to the issue of managing so many separate debts. Credit card debts, mortgages, car loans, monthly bills, personal loans, student loans, business loans and many, many more. I could go on and on about different debts but i’m beginning to get depressed already by just listing these few types. I better stop.

My point is sometimes we have to repay so many debts in our lifetime (most of the time all the way to our retirement), it could become very stressful. So having a debt consolidation planned ahead is so much more convenient. It would lessen our burden with lower interest rates, lower repayment scheme and most important with just one single payment each month. No more separate repayments that will cause us headaches!

But before that, it is a good idea to get your very own credit score. You’ll never know what your credit history would look like to financiers. Even if you have a prompt repayment history, it’s safer to know your scoring to avoid any identity theft. And if you have a bad credit score there is always some ways to improve credit status. Like what i said, it’s important to check your credit score. Don’t know how to get one? Don’t worry. Credit Nexus offer a 3-in-1 free credit report that gives a complete overview of the credit history rating.

What you should do now is to monitor your credit report and fix it before it’s too late. :)

When it comes to Pan Mee, Restoran Kin Kin is still my favorite for it’s awesome chili pan mee. But i haven’t been to Kin Kin for ages and Restoran Super Kitchen comes a close second plus it’s especially convenient since they have a branch in Kepong where i stay. Thanks to mom who told us about the Kepong branch :) .

Restoran Super Kitchen

The place is clean (which is like way better than stuffy Kin Kin) and you can expect the food to arrive in just a short while.

super chili
Awesome chili

The dry chili flakes and the sour chili sauce here are excellent!

Let’s not compare with Kin Kin… ok, i still think Kin Kin have better dry chili LOL).

pan mee
Pan Mee

Mom and i had the normal soup based pan mee while Mr.Bf and sis had the kon lo (dry) pan mee. You can actually pick the type of pan mee that you prefer (the processed pan mee or hand made pan mee).

Personally i think the soup base pan mee was just alright. The soup was a little bland but nothing a few spoon of chili can’t fix! LOL. I think the kon lou pan mee is better since it’s more aromatic and a goes great with the dry chili.

The sui gao (dumplings) were good too. They aren’t stingy on the stuffings too, dumplings were very plump.

Looking through Yama Sushi On The Lake website, left a lasting impression of good food eaten at the luxury of peaceful serenity. Located in the Plaza Del Lago Shopping Center on Mission Viejo Lake, this eatery sets a fine atmosphere and beautiful view for a relaxing sushi meal by the lake side. If you don’t know what i mean, just take a look at these pictures.

I certainly wouldn’t mind chilling out there. It’s pretty romantic too. Just imagine dining facing the lake before the sun goes down. :)

Brick Chicken Baguette Sandwich

Filed Under (Recipes, Western Cuisine) by kuanfoodfetish on 08-12-2008

This is one of the best chicken sandwich i had. Basically i think anything with thyme and rosemary is awesome LOL. You’ve got to try it to know what i mean. The smell of the chicken grilling had me drooling!

I forgot to take a photo of the result but pic comes really close.

The recipe from http://find.myrecipes.com/ (Just do with whatever you can find – you don’t really have to weigh down the sandwich with a brick :P ) :-

Weighing down the sandwich with a brick or other heavy object presses the filling together so it’s easier to eat. Do this in the refrigerator, or, wrapped in plastic wrap, at the bottom of the cooler where drinks can compress the sandwich. Depending on your tastes, you might want to use just one garlic clove.
Yield

6 servings (serving size: 1 sandwich)
Ingredients

* 1 tablespoon finely chopped shallots
* 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
* 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
* 1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme
* 2 teaspoons extravirgin olive oil
* 3/4 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast
* 1/4 cup fat-free mayonnaise
* 1 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary
* 2 garlic cloves, minced
* 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
* Cooking spray
* 1 red bell pepper, halved lengthwise and seeded
* 2 (1/2-inch-thick) slices red onion
* 1 (16-ounce) loaf French bread, cut in half horizontally
* 4 (1-ounce) slices provolone cheese
* 1 cup sliced hearts of palm
* 1 cup arugula leaves

Preparation

Combine first 5 ingredients in a large zip-top plastic bag. Add chicken to bag; seal. Marinate in refrigerator 3 hours, turning occasionally.

Prepare grill to medium-high heat.

Combine mayonnaise, rosemary, and garlic; set aside.

Remove chicken from bag, discarding marinade. Sprinkle chicken with salt. Place chicken on grill rack coated with cooking spray; grill 5 minutes on each side or until done. Remove chicken from grill. Place bell pepper and onion on grill rack coated with cooking spray; grill 6 minutes on each side or until slightly charred. Cut chicken diagonally across grain into thin slices. Separate onion into rings; cut bell pepper into thin strips.

Spread mayonnaise mixture evenly over cut sides of bottom and top halves of bread. Arrange cheese evenly over bottom half of bread. Arrange onion, bell pepper, and hearts of palm evenly over cheese; top with chicken and arugula. Place top half of bread over arugula. Cut filled baguette in half. Wrap each half tightly in plastic wrap. Place filled baguette halves in refrigerator; top with a cast-iron skillet or other heavy object. Let chill at least 2 hours. Cut each filled baguette half into 3 equal portions.
