The Emperor Noodle or more known as the Huang Di Mien restaurant has been around for quite a few years now. The food is extremely affordable plus the food is fairly good. The branch in Bandar Menjalara, Kepong was featured in an episode of 8TV’s Ho Chak.

I’ve been here quite a few times for quick lunches. It’s not a bad place to have lunch you know.

The food is good, the eatery is clean and the service is fast.  The only complaint i have about this place is that they air the same Chinese movie about the emperor and it’s cook (the one staring Bobby Au-Yong)  repeatedly 24 hours a day. Actually each time i’ve been there the movie is on -_-”.

I guess it’s only appropriate since the eatery specialize in emperor noodle so even the wall paper is pictures of the emperor’s palace. Yes, the whole interior is in yellow too.

Emperor noodle is a type of egg noodle. People mistake it for wanton noodle all the time. It’s similar to wanton noodle but the texture finer and more springy. All the noodles on the menu is made with emperor noodle.

The Shark Fin with Crab Meat Noodle that we had was just so-so. Of course we know it’s not real shark fin LOL. You can’t get shark fin at RM9.80 ok. It tasted a little bland compared to the fist time we had it. I guess they must have forgotten the pepper and salt. Nevertheless, the soup base is thick and would have tasted better with a dash of pepper and soy sauce.

yong tau fu

The Yong Tau Fu with Special Sauce was quite yummy. The sauce/gravy was very sweet and tasty. The tau fu pok totally soaked up the sauce.

The fried dumpling on the other hand was very good. I always love the dumpling here. The stuffing is generous and most important is that the dumpling is fresh. I really am picky when it comes to dumpling. I find quite a few eateries with pre-fried dumplings which they would just heat up when theere are customer who ordered. It’s just so yucky. So i’m pretty satisfied with the dumplings here. Plus the chili sauce is super hot!
