Kuan Food Fetish

Ok. Both Mr. Boyfriend and i had been meaning to eat at Meng Kee for quite some time now. Mr. Boyfriend was raving about their fantastic char siew (BBQ pork), possibly the best in KL. People had been reviewing about this place for years. Being the outdated me, i have not even tried the char siew at this joint.

Unfortunately, each time we were around Bukit Bintang area, the place is either closed for business, buzzing over packed with hungry patrons or they had run out of char siew. Well, i guess that shows how famous this shop is hor.

Meng Kee’s Char Siew

We however finally found our way into the shop last weekend. We were running late because there’s only limited char siew left. I find the char siew just so-so. It was decent and the charred skin was nice but not as good as i had expected (given all the positive review). Have the quality dropped or have my taste bud gone crazy? Mr. Boyfriend also admitted that it doesn’t taste as good as before. Hmmm… maybe we came a little late so the good ones were sold already?

Just the char siew and 2 plate of rice cost about RM12.00.
