Charms Cafe
Second because of it’s good fusion of East and West food. Each time i past by this cafe, the fragrant and aroma doesn’t fails to tempt me.
I must admit that the nice food presentation is also quite an attraction.
Charms have the best ginger milk tea (Teh Halia) ever. It’s milky and aromatic. Not overly sweet which is a bonus. I really have a phobia ordering “lai char” (milk tea) anywhere because no one seems to under stand what is “kurang manis” (less sweet)!
Another reason i love this place is because it offers local dishes with a twist. Instead of normal Asian cuisine, some of the dishes on the menu are prepared differently from the norm. The last time we were here we had the Fried Cantonese Mee which was superb. This time we had the Fried Chee Cheong Fun. It taste a little like Fried Kuey Tiaw Mee but with less oil and it’s not as aromatic. But doesn’t meant that it’s less tasty or less enjoyable. The chee cheong fun being soft and smooth kind of balance out the taste. Very nice.
The Dry Pan Mee is equally good. Not spectacular but still good. Instead of the normal flat noodle, they used string shaped noodle. The dish also comes with soup on the side.
My favorite though is the Fried Tau Foo Pok. Ok, i just realized that we ordered everything fried LOL. Anyways, the tau foo pok is fried together with salty eggs among other ingredients making it crispy, sweet and little salty at the same time. This is a must try.
Fried Tau Foo Pok - RM7.90
Fried Chee Cheong Fun - RM8.90
Dry Pan Mee with Soup - RM8.90
Chinese tea - RM1.50
Teh Halia (Ginger Milk Tea) - RM4.00
Total: RM30.90 (RM31.20 + RM2.81->service charge + 10% discount)
