The restaurant is located at Bandar Sri Manjalara. Being the corner shop, it’s hard to miss the shop. Of course the giant neon crab on the sign board helps

I didn’t recall that the price of dishes are not listed in the menu the last time i came here. I found this very inconvenient because we couldn’t estimate our budget and we can’t keep asking for them to read us the price right?
Kung Pou Mantis Prawn
We had the Kung Pou Mantis Prawn (Lai Liu Har). It’s fried mantis prawn with with red chili, capsicum/bell pepper and onion. It’s not very spicy at all despite the chili. In fact, the gravy is sweet and the crunchiness of the fried prawns made it quite appetizing.
The Four Heavenly King is obviously made up of 4 kind of vegetables; french bean, brinjal, …….. Not bad. Anything cooked with fried krill (har mai) is always awesome!
Being in De Foodland, we wouldn’t miss out on the signature crab dishes. Out of the 30 over style of crab dishes, we ordered 2 type of crab (Creamy Butter Crab and Sweet & Sour Crab).
The crab here is very meaty and quite fresh. My favourite was the Creamy Butter Crab because the gravy is very thick and buttery. The Sweet & Sour Crab was good but the taste is too light for me. However, the crab shell is cracked before cooking so that the gravy would be absorbed into the white succulent crab meat. Plus it’s easier for us to peal off the shell that way.
I was however, disappointed with the fried bun (fried man tao) because i love the bun dipped in crab gravy. It was darn greasy, the oil practically drip onto my plate.
I have to say De Foodland is still my favorite place for a feast of crabs. But if you’re planning for a visit on holidays or on special occasions like Mother’s Day, do make an early reservation because the place often is packed even on normal days.
Creamy Butter Crab (1 kg) – RM54.00
Sweet & Sour Crab (1 kg) – RM54.00
Kung Pou Mantis Prawn – RM12.00
Four Heavenly King – RM10.00
Bun – RM3.00
White Rice (6 pax) – RM6.00
Chinese Tea ( 5 pax) – RM6.00
Longan drink (1 pax) – RM2.80
